We heard many nice things about Georgetown and its active sailing community and were looking forward to spending a few days there. Luckily we had an absolutely incredible weather window to head south to Georgetown, which we did in parallel with our friends from Puff the Magic Dragon. Once arrived, we picked up my sister and her family, who came to visit us for two weeks. Our kids are almost the same age and were so happy to be re-united. We had prepared a nice little trip, which didn’t involve too much sailing but a lot of fun beach- and swim-time with my sister’s family.
On the first day, my sister and I went for a big provisioning-run in Georgetown and got almost everything we could have imagined – which did come with a hefty price-tag. But after all, the food we bought was going to feed 8 people for two weeks.
While waiting for some lost baggage, we went and discovered Georgetown and some of the surrounding islands. We went to pet some stingrays at the famous cruisers’ hangout “Chat’n’Chill” and climbed up one of the hills with a monument on it.
