Our last stop with my sister and family was Staniel Cay. We had been looking forward to this stop, because many cruisers told us about thunderball grotto. This grotto became famous through a James Bond movie, which we decided to watch the day before swimming through it. To visit the grotto we had to be sure to go at slack tide to have the current. We liked it so much that we snorkeled it twice and also discovered a fun drift-dive around the cave. It was great to see how excited the kids were to discover this cave and how well they were able to deal with the current (which we ended up with despite all planning).
We also went to visit the legendary swimming pigs with a bit of hesitation. The kids found it funny that the pigs would swim out to the dinghy but were also a bit scared of the pigs, so we didn’t make a long stop.
Then, time had come to say goodbye to my sister and family after two great weeks spent together.
