As I mentioned in an earlier blog, the Swimming Pool anchorage is like a sailor’s dream come true. It is protected from all sides by a huge reef and when anchored there, you have the constant sound of waves breaking nearby while the boat lays still. There were enough reasons for us to go back there and spend more time. For the first time during our sailing trip did we have a large time-span at our disposal and no rush to get anywhere. The only next date we had was with our friends Moritz and Anne in mid-August in the San Blas. Slowing down also meant that we had to find a good rhythm to structure our days. Bernie usually worked in the mornings while I homeschooled the kids and then we would go on an afternoon-adventure together. This could be snorkeling, hanging out with other kids on the islands, fishing or doing fancy jumps from our boat. Also, around 4, there was a daily volleyball meetup that we attended regularly and improved our skills.
We enjoyed spending time with the Kailani crew, a German family of four with two kids that are a bit younger than ours. The kids were like magnets and directly got along super well, just like the adults. Good vibes!
